Isaac-3 months!

No dr appt this month, but growing like a weed! Moved to size 2 diapers, mostly 3 month clothes but can definitely fit into a lot of 3-6 or 6 mos.

EAT:
Nurses every 3ish hours during the day. When he does get a bottle, will be a 4-5 oz bottle. He has been very inconsistent at night, going anywhere from 3-9 hours, mostly a 5-7 hour stretch followed by a 4 hour stretch. However, I had surgery last week so he was only given bottles as I recovered. We learned that I only pumped 2-3 ounces at night but he would take a 6 ounce bottle....and sleep through the night! Although it's not consistent, he's definitely now giving us anywhere from 7-11 hours at night, so you better believe he will be getting a bottle for his last feeding from now on! He now takes his bottles cold, straight from the fridge--the boy LOVES his food, any way it comes!

PLAY:
Oh, the smiles! He will wake up and get unswaddled and do his superman pose. He will lay on his playmat and stretch and stretch. He started rolling over to his right side but can't quite flip to his tummy yet. He will tolerate 5-10 mins in the Bumbo and has given up on the bouncy seat. Of course the big swing is still the big time winner in his world. He does love to be outside. He is becoming very social and will smile and coo at anyone that will give him attention. He started giggling today-right at 3 mos and oh so cute. He still has a pretty laid back personality except for when he's hungry and  then he will let you know--he will SCREAM and turn bright red, turns it on so fast with no warning. Caleb says I make him "cry for food" but he really doesn't show any hunger cues except for screaming. He started to discover his feet--pretty much just stares in awe, trying to figure out what they are! He still loves looking at himself in mirrors :).

SLEEP:
He still sleeps best in his swing. Those 7-11 hour stretches I was talking about? Yep, those are in the swing.  He will only nap for 15-20 mins max in the crib and give me 5-6 hours max at night. Grrr. While I was recovering and Caleb was on night duty he got the swing every night so I'm going to attempt the crib more this week. He does have a really tough time sleeping in new environments--we went to Whitney and the first night he was up every 1.5 hours :(. I'm hoping this month is a big turn in the sleep department and we don't have to do cry it out at 4 months....he's got one more month, then it's operation sleep and turn the monitor off in this house!

Dear my Sweet Isaac Baby,
I love your sweet sweet smiles. How you will just look at me and talk. I love how you just gaze into my eyes when you nurse or take a bottle. You are such a trooper--this month you had your first airplane ride, your first baseball game, your first marathon, your first (and hopefully only!) terrorist attack, your first real smiles and coos, 4 days of being away from Mama (I couldn't hold or nurse you after surgery), and lots of trips to parks and walks in the neighborhood. You just gear up and go--in the Ergo or the stroller, most of the time happy as long as you're fed. You started sitting in your highchair at dinnertime and participating in nightly conversations and tantrums :). I love you sweet boy and wish I could stop time....this is such a sweet age!
Mama
