Swim Lessons

Carter's first round of swimming lessons has come and gone. These past 2 weeks he went for 30 min lessons mon-thurs. I wouldn't say he's close to swimming, but he's definitely able to do the early skills of kicking, blowing bubbles with face in water, holding breath underwater briefly, and learning arm movements. I'm glad we now have some things to work on as we play at the pool the rest of the summer!

Crazy hair

Love this kid so much....and lets just say the humidity + pool + sun is turning this hair super crazy! Any ideas on taming?! I'm not sure what the flowbee would do, but if I can convince Caleb, the shop vac and flowbee will be inaugurating this mane pronto :)

4 months!

Weight: 15 lb, 9 oz (75%)
Length: 26.5 in (95%)
Head: 16.75 in (60%)

Overall check up went great. Right on target for milestones. Head is a lil on the flat side so taking him for head shape eval :(. We've been doing tummy time...this may be more swing-sleeping related. We are starting sleep boot camp next week!

Size 2 diapers, 3-6 mos clothes.

He still sleeps in his swing, waking up 1-2 times a night. I'm really dreading cry it out bc he is such a sweet baby, but its time. Next week is baby sleep-in-crib-unswaddled bootcamp around here and I'm hoping its just a couple of nights!

He is so smiley and so chatty. He just wants someone to look at him and he just lights up with a huge grin. He fusses if he's hungry, tired, or bottle is taken away.

He grabs at objects and loves lights and sounds. He prefers sitting up to laying on his back so is often in the bumbo or highchair.

He eats every 3ish hours during day. Is usually nursed but given a 6 oz bottle if we're out. At night he gets a 7 oz bottle and will typically sleep 730-2:30, then 530 and every 3 hours. He is a trooper and gets toted along to our activities so he's not on too structured of a schedule. Typically naps 8-9, then 1130-230, and 5-545 on a good day, but sometimes it's just car naps and he's fine with that.

My little Isaac,
You smile so easily and will grin and coo at anyone who just looks at you. You are such a happy baby and bring so much joy to my life. You love your food and will scream when it is taken away....makes me laugh every time. You are a trooper and don't mind going to the pool, park, swim lessons or running errands as long as you are fed. You love to watch your brother play and I can already see the bond of brotherhood forming.
Love you to the moon and back,
Mama
