Carter had been planning his big day since about May, and it did not disappoint. He has definitely learned the art of milking birthdays for all its worth! Daddy was home on paternity leave this year so he got to join in the festivities ALL MINUTE LONG!
Woke up at 530 to decorated room...and on your birthday you "don't have to wait until it's a 6 and a 3"
Opened birthday present from Grandpa and GrandmaJo...a fun car racing track!
Biscuits for breakfast!
Opened birthday gift from Nana and Papa...a bike helmet!! He and Daddy then went to Wal Mart and picked out his very own bike from Mommy and Daddy!
Pump it up open gym for mid-morning jump fun
Lunch at Chick fil A! Mimi met us there...and only on your birthday do you get ice cream :)
He and Daddy were supposed to forego naptime and ride trolley but since it started raining they went and played at Barnes and Noble instead!
When the rain stopped he tried out his new bike! Mommy may have teared up as I watched him from the porch...he really is growing up fast!
He initially did not want to go to choir practice at church. He then found out he would get to practice on the stage and since he loves all things about performing on a stage, that was a super special treat. He ate pizza with his choir friends then had practice on the stage! Afterwards he wanted to go to bake and play for a cupcake. Unfortunately, it was closing as we arrived but they did let us buy a cupcake to take home! I don't have a pic, but we ended the day with one last birthday song serenade, a cupcake...and spending the night in the guest bed with Daddy. Oh, what a day just for Carter!

Carter Boy,
This year you are learning the song "Away in a manger". I remember holding you at 3 weeks old singing that song to you and now you are singing it solo. You are getting so big and I'm so proud of the little boy you are becoming. You are the little rockstar of our family. You love to perform and be on stage. You love to play "Macy's Parade" and listen to your music all.the.time. You talk about when you grow up you will live in California with the rockstars, since you are a rockstar. You continue to love Mondays to watch the trash truck and now very curious about trash and want to visit the city dump. You are a natural leader and although you can be a bit bossy, you prefer to be the one in charge...of what activities we do, where we go, and how we do things. Isaac adores you and pretty much imitates anything you do. You boys love to play together but also fight over toys, who gets to stand on which step stool while brushing teeth, etc. I know this is only the beginning. I pretty much tell y'all to work it out and you are pretty good at talking to Isaac and negotiating. You boys share your room and Daddy and I love to hear your interactions at night after we've left. You play drums on your beds and you often tell Isaac what to do and he follows suit. You love to finger paint, tell stories (you often say "tell me the story about...when I was in the hospital, when Isaac was born, when you were sick"), play outside, snuggle, and still love your chin cha. You are very creative and I love your imaginative play...bakery is a top choice and you crack us up because when someone orders something you always have a reason why you can't make it. You keep us so entertained and although some days the talking never stops and you say "mommy, are you losing patience?", I wouldn't trade these days for anything. You made me a Mommy and I love getting to see the little boy God created you to be. I can't wait to see how He uses you and your love for music and creativity. I hope you continue to be confident in your gifts and chase your dreams sweet boy . I'll be your biggest cheerleader.
Love, Mommy
